About The Church of the Annunciation
Located on the north side of Mandraki harbor, this church was constructed in the 1920's by the Italians. The Gothic exterior is based on the Church of Saint John in the Medieval City, complete with Gothic-style doors, windows, and arches. Originally serving the Rhodes Catholics, it was later renovated into the town’s Orthodox Church. It became the Orthodox Cathedral of Rhodes in 1948.
