Acropolis of Lindos

The Acropolis of Lindos is quite an unusual combination of ancient temples and medieval crusader castle. It is much more impressive than the acropolis at Rhodes town and is well worth taking a trip to Lindos to see it. It is just over an hours on the bus from Rhodes. The walk up to the acropolis takes you through the old village which is also very quaint, with gift shops and tavernas. The only way up is on foot or donkey, so be ready for a steep climb and bring plenty of water if it is a hot day.
